Activities

Cahuzac-sur-Vère is surrounded by wonderful walking and cycling country. The village is situated on two of the French Grande Randonnees – 36 and 46 – and there are numerous guided walks and cycle routes of varying length and energy requirements in the area, three of which start from the village itself. The village is also now situated on the Way of St James, the pilgrim’s route to Santiago da Compostella, on the section which links the Via Tolosana (starting at Arles) with the Via Podiensis (starting at Le Puy). Since 2015 two long distance mountain bike routes, the 10 and the 12, start in the village.

Other activities locally include horse riding, fishing, tennis, golf, sailing on the Tarn at the nearby Base de Loisirs d’Aigueleze and canoeing and white water rafting on the Aveyron. Bikes are available for hire in Gaillac, the local market town. And when the temperature rises there are several espaces de loisirs in the area where you can cool off with a dip in the lake or outdoor pool.
