Friendly Cahuzac-sur-Vere is located on two of the French Grandes Randonnées – GR36 and GR46 – and on the Pilgrim’s Way to Compostella, making it a superb centre for walking.  Helene, a experienced walker herself, is happy to advise on walks of all distances and difficulty.

Cahuzac-sur Vere is also situated on the Circuit des Vins

and surrounded by more than 100 vineyards of the Gaillac Appellation, one of the most ancient in France. The Gaillac Appellation is also on the Iter Vitis, a European network of wine tourism destinations.

You’ll never have a dull moment when staying at Les Heures Claires, with cycling, horse-riding, sailing on the river Tarn, white water rafting and rock-climbing in the Gorges d’Aveyron, golf, fishing and even swimming in a natural lake.  

South-West France is ancient Cathar country and the Tarn is steeped in history. The impressive city of Albi which is home to the largest brick-built cathedral in the world is a must, as is the nearby fortified village of Cordes-sur-Ciel, breathtakingly perched on a rocky outcrop and full of artist’s workshops.
